Terry initiated our first Members Meet-up!  She wanted to learn and share information about giving wisely with other members who are also committed to making a difference.  Her guests are Marcy Allen, the Executive Director of Missoula Community Foundation and Grace McKoy, CPA, CVA.  This is an educational opportunity in a comfortable, friendly space to learn, ask questions, and explore what giving could look like for you. No jargon. Let's Talk About Giving

Whether you're just starting to think about philanthropy or you've been giving for years, we'd love to have you join us for a relaxed, no-pressure conversation about giving back.

Why and how people give
We'll start with the basics — what philanthropy really means, how women are shaping the giving landscape today, and a reminder that generosity isn't just about writing big checks. Giving comes in many forms, and every contribution matters.
 

What matters to you
This is really about you. We'll talk through the causes close to your heart, the kind of impact you hope to make, and when giving might fit into your life and plans. There are no wrong answers here — just a chance to think out loud.

Getting familiar with your options
Together, we'll walk through some of the different ways people give in plain English:

• Cash gifts

• Appreciated stock

• Donor-advised funds

• Qualified charitable distributions (QCDs)

• Estate gifts

A friendly word on taxes
Timing and the type of gift can sometimes affect the tax side of things. A general overview will give you a better sense of how it all fits together — just know this will be a big-picture conversation, not individual tax advice, but we will give you good questions to bring a financial or tax advisor so you can be prepared.  And you'l leave with one simple step you can take whenever you're ready.
